about
All The Greats Have Gone is a tribute to the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali. It's also a shout out to the greats, of sport and music, that are no longer with us. Bob Marley, Freddie Mercury, Etta James, Barry White, Joe Frazier, Arthur Ashe - the list is endless.
Vocalist Reggae Gad re-discovered this backing track on one of the many hard-drives sitting on his cluttered desk at home. "I've got hard-drives stacked like firewood. This track was recorded for us years ago, but we never got around to using it. I found it again by chance, and the song came together in no time." All The Greats Have Gone was recorded at the Purple Patch studio, Bristol during an ongoing game of darts.

lyrics
Lyrics
Embers and tiny flames defying fine raindrops
Blown by the winds of change, that whistle when the song stops
All the greats have gone, pick up the baton and carry on
Echoes of golden days, defiant and enraged, all slowly fade to grey, one by one like leaves drop
All the greats have gone, pick up the baton and carry on
And with the baton in your hand, you better run with it
Under the sun with it, and through the rain
Because all must be said and done before night-time comes
A breeze will turn the page
A storm will bring the change, and redefine an age
Depending on which way the wind blows
All the greats have gone, pick up the baton and carry on
And with the baton in your hand, you better run with it
Under the sun with it, and through the rain
Because all must be said and done before night-time comes
Embers and tiny flames...
